• To provide a clean, orderly and safe living environment for our student.
• To provide our student with a private room equipped with a dresser, bed, desk and chair.
  ( For a winter camp typically 2 paired kids stay together at a host family )
• To provide three balanced meals per day, plus access to snacks as required.
• To provide either laundry service or access to facilities.
• To include our student in family activities, outings and English conversation as much as possible.
• To promptly notify the homestay program of any changes in the home that may affect the student, such as: illness or a change in household members (i.e. children leaving, parents separating, long term guests staying or students placed by other institutions).
• If requested, to provide Marco Polo with a police criminal records check on any person 19 and over living in our home.
• I further state that no person living in our home is or has been the subject of a charge under the Criminal Code of Canada, the Young Offenders Act, or the Narcotics Control Act.
• I agree to refund any unused portion of the homestay fees to Marco Polo if the student moves out of our home during the contract period or at any time thereafter at the discretion of the Homestay Coordinator.

They will stay at Canadian host families and attend 8 public schools in Niagara Falls and 4 schools in Fort Erie, and they will also have supplementary ESL lessons and recreational and cultural activities. Please find outline information as follows:

1. Program Period: 7 week program: January 6 to February 21
                                10 week program: January 6 to March 15

2. Size of Group: 30 students for 7 weeks and 10 students for 10 weeks

3. Age Group: Aged 9 to 14 ( Grade 3 to Grade 8). 2 students will stay at each host family and 2 students will be placed per class

4. Participating Schools:
7-Week Program in Niagara Falls: St. Davis, Battlefied, James Morden, Cherrywood
Acres, Forestview, R. F. Ruthland, John Marshall and Martha Cullimore
10-Week Program in Fort Erie: General Vanier, Garrison Road, Rose Seaton and Fort Erie Elementary.


5. Program: They will attend public school from Monday to Friday ( 8:45 to 3:30) and have afterschool ESL class for 2 hours ( 3:30 to 5:30) every Monday and Wednesday and cultural activities every Tuesday and Thursday but do not have any afterschool plans on Friday so that they can spend time with host families. After all, they have all major weekend activities every Saturday. However, from the 5th week to the 10th week, they will have afterschool ESL from Monday to Thursday, except for every Wednesday when they will have a fun activity. Please find the provisional schedule attached.

6. Accommodation: They will stay at 16 host families in Niagara Falls and 7 host families in Fort Erie. The host families will be responsible for 3 meals a day and transportation. Detailed transportation schedule will be provided later. Compensation for accommodations and daily rides will be $2,300 for 7 weeks and $3,450 for 10 weeks per 2 students. A family interview and police check-up will follow shortly.
